What is a Power Animal or Animal Guide? How can you connect to yours
For those of you not familiar with the notion of animal totems, animal spirit guides or power animals, you can learn more by going to the Animal Spirit Guides page. That page also lists recommended reading for those interested in learning more. It also tells about the unique services that I offer to help you know which animal totem energies work with you and how to develop a deeper connection to those special guides.
In such a scenario it seems fitting that this drawing had come that afternoon. Wolf Spirit is one of my closest power animals. It walks in partnership with me often, and is nearly always with me in meditation. One of the roles Wolf plays is one of "protector." He often seals off energetic space for me while I enter deeper states of consciousness, a lesson Nature clearly illustrated for me that day.
In the days to follow, I began to feel animal energies lining up to be acknowledged and drawn. Just a day before the Kentucky Derby, I looked up in the sky and saw a cloud shaped like the head and mane of a horse running free. So I headed back home, put on my music, grabbed my art supplies and began to draw. These two drawings emerged. Interestingly, when posted on Facebook, these drew the attention of many friends from around the world and I began to understand that there was more to this form of Spirit Art than just a creative outlet of inner expression.
A friend then asked me if I'd ever drawn Owl and two more drawings emerged. More animal spirits followed. Like my other Spirit Art, each drawing has its own energy and each time I draw a specific totem different aspects are revealed.
